The Bubblesound XFade is a compact Eurorack crossfader module designed for smooth interpolation between two audio or CV sources. It provides manual and voltage-controlled blending, making it a flexible utility for mixing, modulation, and dynamic signal morphing within a modular system.
The module features two inputs and one output, with a front-panel control for manual crossfading between the two signals. Two CV inputs with individual attenuators allow external control over the fade position, enabling evolving transitions and automated mixing. Because the crossfade circuit is VCA-based and the inputs are DC-coupled, the XFade can operate at audio rate, allowing it to be used for complex modulation effects including ring-modulator-like behavior when driven with appropriate signals.
Its DC coupling also allows seamless blending of both audio and control voltage sources, making it suitable for mixing LFOs, envelopes, oscillators, or hybrid signal combinations for advanced modulation routing.
